One Step Closer

One day, while walking down the street, we noticed the moon. It was not easy to spot — just a thin crescent, barely visible in the daylight. Swallows were darting through the sky around it, while we seemed to be moving from one difficulty to the next.
Somehow, it felt comforting to look up from our problems and gaze at the sky. To watch the effortless flight of the birds and the moon, ever changing yet always there. It made me feel that life quietly carries on, even when times are hard and we get caught up in the little details. With every passing day, we move a little closer to the place our bumpy road is leading us.
As I was reflecting on the finished painting, I came across these words:
"If our attitude is right, no obstacle is too high, no valley too deep, no dream too ambitious, and no challenge too great. Yet we spend more time worrying about the things we cannot change…"
- Bob Gass -
I feel that if we can learn from this, then our dreams are not beyond our reach either. Perhaps we, too, can fly as lightly as the swallows.
